  During the 1978-1979 Junior
Presidency of Renae Clements
(now Executive Director of the Girls
Club of Alachua County), and under
the direction of Junior Member Lynn
Read (Williams), the Juniors were
the key organization who concept-
ualized the creation of the Girls Club.
The Juniors organized a network of
politicians, community members,
and philanthropists for financing and
resources. Following a three-year capital building campaign (and
using Junior seed money), the girls
took occupancy of their brand new
building on August 15, 1982, and
incorporated thereafter.

  Today help us celebrate service
and the 25th anniversary of the Girls
Club of Alachua County by attending
their 25th Birthday Carnival on
August 18th from 10 AM until 2 PM.
