ECA International published a list of cities with the highest apartment rents in 2011. Asia establishes itself as the location of the most expensive apartments.

In the list of top 20 cities in the world’s most expensive apartment for rent, Asia is represented by the eight cities. The first and second sequence is filled by the city in Asia, namely Hong Kong and Tokyo. Other cities are Singapore (9), Mumbai (13), Seoul (14), Shanghai (18), Abu Dhabi (19), and New Delhi (20).

Premium apartments, which have three bedrooms, the Hongkong leased with an average value of USD11, 813 per month – double the price of a similar apartment rental in Singapore. Tokyo is in second place and so one of the Best Cities for Housing has an average rental prices USD9, 450 per month.

According to Lee Quane, Regional Director, ECA International Asia, Hong Kong’s high prices triggered by the increased rental demand. Premium apartment rents in Hong Kong, compared to 2010, has risen 15 percent. ”People cannot afford because of soaring property prices.
