Here are just a handful of classic British styles and movements that can transform the interior of your home.
English Countryside
A small cottage in the countryside is a typical British ideal and creating the appearance of one can be easily done. Starting with the basic colour scheme of natural colours and team them with floral prints and fabrics.
Exposed oak beams that have been stripped of paint and varnish give a traditional rustic feel to your room, together with some oak internal doors; they really bring a much warmer and natural feel to the room. Try to balancing the exposed wood by painting your walls cream or white, this prevents the exposed beam from giving the room a claustrophobic feel.
A typical English cottage feature is curtains; avoid light-weight fabrics in your curtains as they tend to let in drafts. Hang them from poles made of natural wood and it will work really well with the exposed beams and oak interior doors.
Victorian Era Style
The Victorian Era was a time where Britain’s power and influence reached all over the world and it was innovative in the revival of the Gothic, decorative and eclectic style.
To recreate this thriving period in your own home begin with a colour scheme of opulent dark colours such as deep purples and reds and sombre greens, and add to these colours with paint effects such as stencilling and speckled surfaces.
The Victorians also used a large number of fabrics to give a room effect. Velvets were popular during the winter months whereas cotton was used mainly in the hotter months. Use them as throw rugs or as curtains to give your room a sense of grandeur.
The most fun part of a Victorian style room is the chance to absolutely pack as much furniture and ornaments as possible. Overstuffed chairs, foot rests and daybeds are essential in a Victorian room as are porcelain figurines and animals.
In the style of Vivienne Westwood
Perhaps not the first thought you would think of when redesigning your room, but when you think about it, the punk movement was a huge part of British culture in the 1970′s and Vivienne Westwood was a key player in designing its iconic look.
To recreate a punk-like atmosphere within your own room stick to tartans, reds and browns are essential in your colour scheme and as you develop your room and develop it further with outrageous greens and blacks which the punk movement was famous for.
Incorporate fabrics like leather and tartan into your furniture and keep the shape and look of the room defined and sharp, an echo into the punk style of bondage, razor blades and chains. The great think about a punk designed room is that you can be as rebellious as you like!

In a residential neighborhood, there are various forms of land plots, according to the location or position within the housing. Each form of the lot has its own advantages and disadvantages, so you should choose as you wish and purpose you are buying.

In his book entitled “Get Rich through Property”, Panangian Simanungkalit explained there are six types of plots, with the advantages and disadvantages of each (see figure).

Type A: Cul De Sac Lot

In French, Cul De Sac is a dead end. As the name implies, this type of plots located at the end of a dead end.

Pros:

* The front of the narrow plots is very good, if viewed from the side of safety.
* Has rear widened.
* Due to the narrow front, making this type of plots is more calm and peaceful.
* It is suitable for residential premises.

Disadvantages:

* Only a small area for parking in front of the house.
* The entrance is narrow.
* Land is limited parking in front of the house

Type B: Interior Lot

Interior lot is the most common types of plots within a cluster. These types of plots located in the middle row of plots in one block.

Pros:

* From the security side is more awake, because it only has one entrance access.
* Requires little maintenance.
* Not too noisy.
* More private than the type of corner lots.

Disadvantages:
* For shelter, the air circulation problems should be of concern.
* Only one direction of view (view).

Type C: T-Intersection Lot

The position of this type in Indonesia better known by the term “skewer”. For those who believe in feng shui calculations, plots such as these has its own advantages and disadvantages that are not owned lots of other types.

Pros:
* The views are broad in front of the house.
* Lot of this type is very suitable to serve as a commercial site, as seen from afar.

Disadvantages:
* Residents will often disturb by a passing vehicle lights at night.
* Less safe when viewed from the side of safety, mainly by vehicle traffic in front of the house.
* This type is less suitable be used as a residence.

Type D: Corner Lot

These types of plots, better known as corner lots or hoek. Some people avoid this type, but some are just looking for corner lots, because the plots of this type generally have more land than the type of interior.

Pros:
* Lot wider than interior lots.
* It has two faces (the entrance).
* Good place to stay, because it has good air circulation and large courtyard.
* Good for the commercial, because it has a large parking area.

Disadvantages:
* Requires maintenance costs (maintenance) is high.
* In terms of security is rather risky, because it has two entrances.
* The atmosphere tends to be noisy, especially if the plots are at a crossroads.

Type E: Key Lot
Plots of this type located in the middle of the other plots, so that from above looks like locking the lots around it.

Pros:
* The form extends to the rear lots.
* It has a large parking area.
* From the security side is more awake, because it only has one entrance access.
* Requires little maintenance.
* Not too noisy.
* More private than the type of corner lots.

Disadvantages:
* For shelter, the air circulation problems should be of concern.
* Only one direction of view (view).
* Close to the neighbor’s septic tank.

Type F: Flag Lot
Called flag lots or flag lots because the lot is shaped “L” as the flag was flying. Perhaps this very rare form of plots found in cluster housing.

Pros:
* Security more secure, because the entrance easily monitored and the position of hidden plots.
* From the standpoint of feng shui, this type is preferred, because the forms of schematics are hanging in the back.

Disadvantages:
* Do not have direct access to main roads.
* Not recommended as a commercial location.
